What we survey
How a measured survey helps
A Measured Building Survey gives you a measured record of a property as it stands today, delivered as existing CAD drawings in DWG and PDF. Whether you need a house measured survey before a purchase, a measured survey for extension work, or base plans for an architectural designer to design from, our fixed-fee package covers floor plans, a roof plan, all four elevations and a cross section. We cover every London borough and the surrounding Home Counties.
A measured building survey records the dimensions of a property as it stands on the day of the visit. It is not a structural inspection, condition report or assessment of building defects.

FAQ
Common questions
What does the £750 measured survey include?
The £750 + VAT package covers a site visit and on-site measuring, an existing floor plan, a roof plan, all four elevations and one cross section. Drawings are delivered as existing CAD drawings in both DWG and PDF — ideal as a base plan for any extension, loft conversion or refurbishment.
Is £750 + VAT the price I will pay?
£750 + VAT is the starting price for straightforward residential properties such as typical London houses and flats. Larger, more complex or unusually shaped properties may take longer to measure and may be quoted at a higher fee. We confirm the fee in writing after the free consultation.
Will this measured survey work for my extension?
Yes. A measured survey for an extension gives you reliable existing floor plans, roof plans, elevations and a section to design from — so your proposed drawings, planning application and Building Regulations submission all start from accurate as-built information.
How long does the survey take on site?
Most house measured surveys take 2–3 hours on site, depending on the size and complexity of the property. Larger properties or those that are hard to access may take longer.
What does “drawing revisions” mean?
Revisions cover factual corrections to the existing drawings — for example, an amendment after we re-check a measurement on site, or a small layout correction prior to sign-off. They do not cover redesigns of the property or preparation of proposed drawings.
When will I receive my drawings?
Drawings are typically issued within 5 working days of the site visit — ready to use as existing CAD drawings for your designer, planning agent or builder.
Can I get the existing CAD drawings in AutoCAD?
Yes. Every measured building survey includes a full DWG file and a PDF. 3D outputs are available on request.
Is a measured building survey the same as a structural or condition survey?
No. A measured building survey records the dimensions of a property as it stands on the day of the visit. It is not a structural inspection, condition report or assessment of building defects — those are separate services carried out by a structural engineer or building surveyor.
